VI is a contract based (right to use) timeshare which means all owners have equal booking rights to VI resort locations. For my wife and I this solved a major problem for our future vacations to Hawaii. If we wanted to be certain we could book a vacation in Hawaii with other time share companies we had to purchase a property on one of the islands and rely on exchanging or trading to book on the other islands. This can be a tedious process with extra costs involved, and we still would not be certain we could book on certain islands. Our VI contract gives us equal reservation rights to all Hawaii resorts. There are 10 resorts spanning the four major islands with ample room availablity if booked far enough in advance.

VI has a variety of contracts that provide different amounts of points and expiration dates, as well as perpetual contracts. What this means to you is many very affordable options to match how you like to travel. We purchased a contract that expires in 2031 for less than $3,000! There are contracts that expire even sooner with much lower prices.

Very simple system to understand with a basic web-site that gives you the information you need. Many time shares can get very confusing when trying to figure out how their system works. It is very easy to see what resorts are available, when they are available, and what they require. If you don't use all your points your contract will be set up where your points can be banked up to three years for future use. When you book your oldest points are always used first.

Maintenance fees for VI are the same for all owners based on annual points. No worries about poor management or unusual events effecting just your time share property.

An internal exchange system that allows you to easily book at resorts outside the VI system. With just about any timeshare system, including VI, you can take advantage of exchange companies such as RCI, but the process is not always simple. VI's system is very easy to take advantage of and costs less then most other exchange options. VI also has a relationship with certain Worldmark properties, such as the Worldmark Las Vegas, that allows you to book rooms outside the VI system using VI points.
